The Cadillac, also known as the trapeze (trap) table was designed by Joseph Pilates to help rehabilitate injuries.  It is widely used to provide a stable base of support for the Pilates exercises, while assisting in finding range of motion, increased flexibility and core strength.  It is said that it was named the Cadillac to portray all the luxury of the car, which at the time signified the best of the best!

The Cadillac also provides a base to perform more advanced exercises and an opportunity to provide balance through the use of spring tension designed to work both sides of the body.

The Cadillac provides an opportunity to do exercises that are also performed on the mat, reformer and other Pilates equipment, the Cadillac is of great advantage to the client who has limited movements, balance issues, or difficulty getting up and down from the floor.

The many exercise choices are a foundation for the Cadillac repertoire, covering work in supine, side-lying, prone and standing.  There are many more exercises that are built from these fundamental, intermediate and advanced movements.
